Creating the Software Foundation For Cloud-Networked Systems
Anyone who has developed software for scalable cloud-networked systems that manage distributed state knows how difficult the process can be. The software takes too long to develop, is too expensive to evolve, and is prone to failures. In the new landscape of embedded systems and cloud applications with relentless demands for more features and higher performance from software, something has to change. And it will.
By introducing innovations in distributed state management, inter-process communication, and high availability, OptumSoft has taken the pain out of large-scale cloud application development where many processes need to work cooperatively. Now, network equipment makers, Internet of Things developers and connected-car technology suppliers can rapidly build and deploy robust solutions that interact seamlessly with cloud-scale systems while operating in resource-constrained environments with critical time constraints.
Cloud providers build their computing and network infrastructures around the principles that system components will fail, and that the way to provide scalable continuously available user services is to design their systems so that component failures don’t take down the overall systems. The hardware part of this is easy, but until now, making resilient applications software has been an arcane art.
OptumSoft software and professional services make these capabilities available to everybody. OptumSoft’s technology is already widely used in network switching systems. OptumSoft also powers the back end database of one of the largest online game companies in the world.
We have several new services and products that are ready for rollout, and we are looking for organizations to join our expanding family of users, vendors, and partners.
If you want to shape the future of software development – and redefine how people write software – OptumSoft wants to hear from you. We’re looking for candidates with expertise in software engineering, systems and applications. We have full-time and part-time positions in our offices in Menlo Park, California, and Bangalore, India.
